2006 another growth year for Tuckaway Staple 30th December 2006
The continuing prevailing mood of doom prevalent in the Aussie wine industry did nothing to slow installation of Tuckway Staples in 2006. Even drought conditions and unseasonal frost had no apparent effect, and we saw more Tuckaway Staples go in than in 2005, proving that the Tuckaway Staple is now considered a vineyard essential.
Wishing all of our customers a prosperous 2007.
Aquaculture staple makes a big splash at Adelaide exhibition 30th August 2006
The Skretting Australasian Aquaculture Exhibition was our first marketing exercise for the stainless steel Tuckaway Staple for long line aquaculture. It met with enormous interest from oyster farmers from South Australia, the Eastern mainland states and Tasmania, New Zealand and the USA. Following two years of trials at Cowell, and six months of testing through punishing winter weather at David Browning's Bruny Island lease, the stainless steel staple is ready for the market. After delays beyond our control, we're expecting all the installation tools to be fully available by the middle of September, and apart from a scarcity of stainless steel which we're doing our best to circumvent, we'll be in the aquaculture supply business very shortly.
U-staple tool head for Tuckaway Pneumatic Driver now available
2nd September 2006
You've asked us for it for years, and now we've finally given in and done it. We're now able to offer an alternative tool head for the Tuckaway Pneumatic Driver (or any 3/8"/10mm round shaft pneumatic chisel hammer/rattle gun) which is designed to install most commonly available U-shaped fencing staples. Tuckaway does not make U-shaped staples, but so many of our customers use both Tuckaway and U-shaped Staples that we thought it would add value to our product if they could use the Pneumatic Driver for both types. And it seems we were right - they're selling like hot cakes, so be quick.

Aquaculture staple well received on Eyre Peninsula
Oyster farmers in Cowell, Coffin Bay, Streaky Bay, Haslam, Smoky Bay and Denial Bay near Ceduna are extremely enthusiastic about the stainless steel Tuckaway Staple for long line aquaculture, and are now impatiently waiting for it to come on the market. The Tuckaway Staple is an alternative to plastic riser clips for anchoring and supporting lines on posts. Many growers now have prototype staples in the water, trialling them in their particular conditions.
Mark Jarvis at Cowell has been testing Tuckaway Staples on his lease for eighteen months, with no problems and no appreciable corrosion. The next stop for our development process is Tasmania, where some oyster growers experience very rough seas and rapid riser failure. It's the ultimate test - if it works there, it will work anywhere! We're on track to start marketing in mid 2006. If you'd like more information, download the flyer, and let us know of your interest.

2005 a "very good year" for Tuckaway Staple
In spite of a decline in the number of new vineyards being planted in Australia, and a gloomy forecast for vintage due to the supposed winegrape "glut", 2005 has been a strong year for sales of the Tuckaway Staple. Many vineyards have been directed by wineries to begin using foliage wires for greater control over fruit characteristics, and the Tuckaway Staple system has been the obvious choice. And of course overseas interest continues to expand.
Thanks to all our customers. Have a great, safe New Year!
COMING SOON - We've received so many requests for a tool head for the Tuckaway Pneumatic Driver to install ordinary U-shaped staples that we've finally given in, and got one in development. It should be ready by the end of January, all going well. If you'd like one, let us know and we'll put your name on our list!
